2027Y Campus - Software Engineer - Linux BSP & Driver Development

Responsibilities:

• •Linux Driver Development: Design, develop and debug low-level Linux kernel MSL for Linux kernel and device drivers for various hardware peripherals on i.MX SOC.
• •Hardware Bring-up: Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to perform initial SW and board bring-up for new SOCs.
• •Kernel Maintenance: Maintain, patch, and upgrade the Linux kernel to support new feature requirements and resolve security vulnerabilities.
• •Linux Upstream: Collaborate with Linux community to push Linux kernel and driver upstream.
• •Testing & Debugging: Utilize standard kernel debugging tools (gdb, kdb, ftrace, dmesg) to identify bottlenecks, memory leaks, and stability issues.

Requirements:

• •Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field (Graduating class of 2027)
• •Core Language: Strong proficiency in Embedded C and a solid understanding of data structures and operations.
• •Operating Systems: Solid theoretical understanding of Operating System concepts (memory management, concurrency, scheduling, interrupts) with academic or project experience in Linux architecture .
• •Hardware Familiarity: Basic understanding of ARM architecture (preferably ARM Cortex-A) and digital electronics. Ability to read hardware schematics and component datasheets.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• •Hands-on experience with an i.MX development board or similar ARM platforms for academic or personal projects.
• •Experience in open source / upstream development.
• •Basic knowledge of Linux kernel space.
• •Familiarity with Git version control and high-level language or SHELL scripts.
• •Experienced with AI coding assistants for coding, debug and automation.
