2nd Shift Extrusion Blow Molding Technician

Job Description

In this job, you will operate EBM (extrusion blow molding) machines and lift equipment, inspect and pack product, and perform scheduled charting and inspections on machines and associated equipment. This is a 2nd Shift position (M-F, 3 PM to 11 PM) that will be trained on 1st Shift.

· Start and stop machines to produce quality, rigid-plastic containers.

· Perform routine inspections, cleaning & lubricating and/or tightening of machine assembles.

· Perform product inspections using test equipment, statistical quality methods & visual inspection techniques.

· Pack product into boxes/cartons at designated production-line speeds according to specifications & stack packed cartons to build 4 ft. high units.

· Safely operate lift trucks to move materials.

· Perform as a responsible team member to maintain a clean, safe, and effective work environment.

· Operate machines, pull seepage, change materials, assist in changeovers and identify start and stop of out-of-spec production (held ware)

· Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.

· Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.

· Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.

· Security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees and proper maintenance/security of Berry equipment and information.

· Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.

· Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.

· Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.

· Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.

· Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

· Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and very the implementation of solutions.
