Job Title: 988 Crisis Intervention Specialist

Team and Department: 988 Crisis Services Call Team

Schedule: GY or After-hours schedules

Job Type: Full-time role (5 days a week; 37.5 hours per weeks)

  • Mon - Fri 12 am - 8 am.
  • Fri - Tues 12 am - 8 am.
  • Work model: Fully Remote (candidates must reside in WA, AZ, OH, TX).
  • Pay rate: $27.87/hour + $2/hr. shift differential.

Please note this is a union-represented (OPEIU) role.

As a 988 Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will

  • Provide clinical guidance, consultation, and debriefing to Crisis Specialists during active 988 contacts
  • Support responses across phone, chat, and text platforms
  • Partner with clinicians and supervisors on high-acuity and complex situations
  • Review and complete documentation to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance
  • Contribute to onboarding, coaching, and skill-building for new team members
  • Assist with queue coverage to help reduce wait times when needed
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and continuous quality improvement efforts

This role blends clinical insight, teamwork, and real-time problem solving —all in service of saving and improving lives.

Requirements

We’re excited to meet candidates who bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field
  • Knowledge of the King County public mental health system (preferred)
  • Confidence working in a high-acuity, fast-moving environment
  • Strong communication skills and comfort navigating multiple technology platforms
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to compassionate care
  • Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential required by the end of the probationary period . Applications must be submitted within 30 days of hire. Crisis Connections will reimburse the cost of obtaining the credential.
