• Join our Finance team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and contribute to our mission to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. As an Accountant I, you'll handle financial operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a global environment. You'll have opportunities to enhance processes, ensure compliance, and contribute to the company's continued growth and success through accurate financial management and reporting.

Requirements:

• •Preferred Fields of Study: Accounting, Finance, or related field
• •Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is advantageous
• •Proficiency in major ERP systems (SAP, QAD) and Microsoft Excel
• •Strong understanding of accounting principles, month-end close processes, and financial controls
• •Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail
• •Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• •Experience with account reconciliations and journal entry preparation
• •Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks
• •Strong organizational skills with ability to meet strict deadlines
• •Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
• •Experience with financial reporting tools and systems (Hyperion, BlackLine) preferred
• •System automation and process improvement mindset
• •Customer-focused approach with ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
• •Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes
• •Demonstrated commitment to integrity and professional ethics

What you will do:

• •Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting and analysis
• •Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy, approval authority matrix and standard operating procedure; recommend changes to strengthen control environment
• •Perform sophisticated accounting treatment and prepare financial documents and supplementary reporting
• •Support internal and external audit requirements
• •Exercise sound data stewardship - following data policies (retention, privacy, security) and detailing procedures
• •Drive continuous improvement and use systems to increase controls and efficiencies
• •Listen proactively and collaborates across functional lines
• •Ensure effective data security and controls within ERP, financial systems, and data flows
