Position Summary:

The Accountant performs professional level accounting work in the preparation, maintenance and analysis of financial records. This position will be responsible for preparing & submitting road checks and recording bank deposits and wires as well as maintaining the financial records for their department or venue, work with operating staff to ensure show settlements are completed timely and accurately, and then reconcile the settlements to the general ledger. The position will also code invoices pertaining to each show settlement and resolve any discrepancies, field invoice inquiries and provide support to Management as necessary.

Essential Duties:

Responsible for the reconciliation of bank transactions, show files, tickets sales, marketing invoices, balance sheets, credit card transactions for ticket sales, and purchasing card charges for show costs – Research and resolve all necessary discrepancies.

Code and reconcile all invoices pertaining to each assigned show, code invoices to appropriate department or event. Processing of road checks, daily cash receipts, invoices, artist payments, and all other cash transactions.

Work with venue operating staff to ensure settlement are submitted timely and accurately into the show system

Review and reconcile supporting documents in the settlement file related to all revenues and expense and accrue any outstanding activity monthly

Responsible to compare and maintain internal show system settlements vs JD Edwards accounting systems to ensure that financial data is accurate and up to date.

Responsible for submitting and coding G&A expenses to the appropriate business unit/dept

Miscellaneous duties as assigned including Ad-hoc projects, income statement & balance sheet reconciliations, and generation of reports on request.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree in Accounting or Finance is required

1-2 Years of related work experience

Experience in month end close process

Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook

Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices

Strong attention to detail is required

Strong interpersonal skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems and discrepancies in financial systems

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Music industry experience is preferred

Experience with JD Edwards, Image Now/Perceptive and Concur is a plus

Pay Scale: $25.06 - $36.73

If not applicable: This position is not eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
