Join Our Travel & Expense Team as an Accountant

Are you looking for a next step in your finance career? Join our Travel & Expense team and play a key role in supporting Valmet's global financial operations. In this position, you will ensure the accurate processing of travel and expense transactions, support end users, and contribute to reliable financial reporting and compliance. You will work with colleagues across multiple countries, gain exposure to global finance processes, and help drive efficiency through standardized and automated ways of working. Your responsibilities

  • Reconcile accounts and verify journal entries to ensure the general ledger is accurate and complete.
  • Analyze financial information and prepare accounting reports, statements, and regulatory filings.
  • Provide technical accounting support and advice to help stakeholders understand financial reports and forecasts.
  • Process travel and expense invoices, including auditing, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain and support expense management systems, including Workday Expense and Service Now.
  • Complete payment processing and finalization activities accurately and on time.
  • Perform period-end closing activities in line with accounting standards and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with Valmet's travel and payment card policy.
  • Support users through training, system guidance, and up-to-date instructions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Valmet units and countries to ensure efficient financial operations.

Expectations from you

  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in performing accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
  • Ability to work independently while managing routine accounting tasks accurately.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing financial information.
  • Interest in problem solving and continuous learning.
  • Previous experience handling travel and expense invoices is considered an advantage.
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Additional language skills are considered an advantage.
  • Relevant educational background is considered an advantage.

You will become part of Valmet's Global Financial Operations organization, a global finance expert team responsible for operational financial management with a strong focus on process harmonization and automation. More than 120 finance professionals work within the organization, supporting business operations across different countries and functions.

The Travel & Expense team plays a vital role in processing travel and expense invoices globally, covering auditing, payments, reconciliations, system support, training, and user guidance.
