Adjunct Faculty - SML

The Sport Management and Leadership program within the Department of Kinesiology is seeking in person adjunct faculty members to teach undergraduate courses during Spring 2027.

Courses include:

SML 565 Principles of Coaching

SML 631 Sport Media Production

SML 738 Sport Finance

SML 740 Athletic Administration

Adjunct faculty members will be responsible for delivering course content, facilitating student learning, assessing student performance, and providing appropriate academic support in accordance with established course objectives and program expectations. The scope of responsibility is limited primarily to instruction and student support associated with the assigned course(s).

Duties/Responsibilities

Course Instruction – 80%

• •Teach assigned undergraduate course(s) in the Sport Management and Leadership program, which may include Sport Finance, Sport Media Production, Principles of Coaching and Athletic Administration.
• •Prepare and deliver course content consistent with established course objectives and learning outcomes.
• •Develop and manage course materials, assignments, assessments, and other learning activities.

Student Assessment and Support – 20%

• •Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on assignments, examinations, and other course requirements.
• •Communicate course expectations clearly and provide reasonable academic support to students enrolled in the course.

Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

• •Master’s degree in Sport Management, Sport Administration, Business, or a closely related field.
• •College-level teaching experience relevant to the course(s) to be taught is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• •Strong knowledge of the subject matter relevant to the assigned course(s).
• •Ability to effectively teach and communicate course content to undergraduate students.
• •Ability to develop and deliver organized, engaging, and academically appropriate course materials and learning activities.
• •Ability to assess student learning and provide clear and timely feedback.
• •Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• •Ability to use instructional technology and learning management systems to support course delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant professional or sport industry experience is preferred.

Compensation Pay Range:

1-2 credit courses $3,100

3-4 credit courses $6,100
