Position Overview:
RGA Shanghai Office is looking for a client-focused professional to join our team as Administration Analyst. The department is responsible for the end-to-end processing of Life and Living Benefits treaties and the corresponding client data. As one of the vital members of the team, the specialist will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the RGA administration system and other functions that have been standardized on the system. A successful candidate will acquire solid knowledge on insurance and reinsurance operations and will be able to apply his/her knowledge in allowing for a smooth processing of client data associated with the reinsurance treaties. Besides, he or she will be able to contribute to the team building spirit within the organization and function as an active participant in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Pre-process ceding company statements and raw data, review raw data whether matches statements
- Create new data mapping to communicate raw data fields and system database fields
- Loading and processing premium and claim data in database
- Check data validation (statement to data reconciliation)
- Clean and prepare the Experience Study data, establish IBNR methodology, provide pricing basis, check for reasonableness, reconciliation on actual claims, expected claims and exposure data
- Perform regular Experience Study tasks and ad-hoc quotation support for Experience Study
- Review FAC cases and other claim investigation with underwriting• Extract data and report for valuation team
- Premium breakdown report for finance team
- Run and extract retro data by month-end
- Communicate with client on data issue, tracking processing progress and other statement issue (VAT, payment, statement timeline etc.)
- Communicate with headquarters admin team on set up new product mapping and treaty team on set up new system treaty information (benefit, product line, retro etc.)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, major in Actuarial Science or Insurance preferred.
- Preferred Database Software Experience
- 1-3 years database SQL skills
- 1-3 years Life Insurance or Reinsurance Administrator/Experience Study related experience.
- Experience in SQL/Query and Python language
- Proficient in Excel, Snowflake, REDi and other ES Application knowledge in insurance industry
- Fluent on English communication (written and spoken)
- Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
- Intermediate oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
- Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
- Intermediate investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate interpersonal skills
- Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects
- Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives

- Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
