Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA) Pediatric Pre-Anesthesia Evaluation Center (Hybrid)

Position Summary:

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Department of Anesthesiology , Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology , is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care within the Pre-anesthesia Evaluation Center . This position is located in Milwaukee , WI at Children's Wisconsin - Milwaukee Campus . The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.

• •Makes independent judgments and prescribes changes in treatment in consultation with physicians and nurses; negotiates systems, plans and directs the implementation of change related to program plans and standards.

Thriving Program: Be part of a dynamic team of 35 fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists along with a growing group of Anesthesiology Assistants and Certified Registered Nursing Anesthetists, providing care to more than 25,000 children annually across perioperative anesthesia, critical care, and pain medicine settings.

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience:

Previous APP anesthesiology experience preferred.

Minimum Education:

Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.

Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.

The hospital, with locations in Milwaukee and Northeast Wisconsin, is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. Children’s and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin – the Children’s Specialty Group (CSG) - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state, serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Children’s Surgery Verification Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, 72-bed Level IV NICU, Level IV Epilepsy Center, and a 72-bed PICU. In 2021-2022, CW and CSG had six specialties ranked by US News & World Report : cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and pulmonology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers, CSG providers had 220,000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites, 67,000 emergency department/trauma center visits, and over 9,000 admissions.
