About Us

Founded in the US in 2022 and now based in London, UK, Recraft is an AI tool for professional designers, illustrators, and marketers, setting a new standard for excellence in image generation.

We designed a tool that lets creators quickly generate and iterate original images, vector art, illustrations, icons, and 3D graphics with AI. Over 3 million users across 190+ countries have produced hundreds of millions of images using Recraft, and we're just getting started.

Join a universe of professional opportunities, develop and support large-scale projects, and shape the future of creativity. We are committed to making Recraft an essential, daily tool for every designer and setting the industry standard. Our mission is to ensure that creators can fully control their creative process with AI, providing them with innovative tools to turn ideas into reality.

If you’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI, we want you on board!

About the Role

You’ll work at the intersection of design and machine learning, applying our model to real creative scenarios to uncover where it works, where it fails, and how it can improve.

We’re looking for practicing designers who work from real briefs, references, and constraints — not artificial prompt experiments.

Your taste, judgment, and ability to define quality will directly shape how the model evolves.

Key Responsibilities

Apply generative models to real-world design scenarios, including editorial illustration, marketing visuals, product imagery, brand assets, and early-stage concept ideation

Evaluate generated outputs to identify quality gaps, edge cases, and opportunities for improvement, documenting findings clearly and constructively

Compare and rank generated images using defined criteria such as composition, visual quality, consistency, and usability within product or marketing contexts

Source and curate image sets from permitted and licensed sources that reflect contemporary visual trends and broadly recognized style categories

Develop realistic use-case scenarios with clear objectives, constraints, and desired outcomes to guide model evaluation and iteration

Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience as a designer, illustrator, art director, or visual creative

A portfolio with recent and relevant work

Strong visual taste and aesthetic judgment

Experience working with real design briefs and constraints

Ability to clearly explain why one visual solution is better than another

Comfort using experimental tools and providing structured feedback

Hands-on experience with AI image tools (and ideally chat-based AI)

Nice to Have

Background in branding, marketing, editorial, product design, or illustration

Agency or studio experience across multiple brands

Freelance experience across diverse projects

Interest in AI, generative models, or creative tooling

What We Offer

Full-time contract with flexible hours around core team availability

A front-row seat at the intersection of professional design and cutting-edge AI — you'll shape how the model evolves, not just test it

Direct impact: your taste and judgment will influence a product used by 3M+ designers worldwide

A small, focused team that moves fast and takes craft seriously
