AI Risk Management Supervision, Division Head

[What the role is]

Provide strategic direction and lead a team of supervisors focused on supervision of AI risk management for the financial sector. This position sits with Banking Department II.

[What you will be working on]

Oversee the development and implementation of supervisory frameworks and approaches for AI risk management.

Work on both broad and technical policy and regulatory issues across the finance sector relating to all aspects of AI

Coordinate with whole-of-government agencies on AI related matters that impact the financial sector

Work on standards-setting work at international bodies related to AI risk management in finance

Work with departments in MAS overseeing the development of AI in finance and contribute to the broader MAS strategy on AI

Drive research and analysis on emerging AI trends, risks, and mitigation techniques relevant to finance.

Manage team resources, project timelines, and deliverables.

[What we are looking for]

Extensive experience in AI governance, AI risk management and/or AI implementation in the financial sector.

Good understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management principles for financial institutions.

Experience with financial regulation or supervision is valued.

Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and complex projects.

Deep understanding of AI, machine learning technologies, data science, with a strong interest to stay current with rapidly evolving AI technologies and regulatory landscapes.

Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Strong communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong interpersonal skills, with experience in engagement of diverse stakeholders.

Relevant advanced degrees in fields like AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or a related highly quantitative field.
