Aircraft Mechanic 2 (Powertrain Prop & Rotor) UH60, AH64 Back shop - FCC or A&P - Stuttgart/Germany

The UH60, AH64 Prop and Rotor Powertrain – Back Shop Mechanic AMII performs and inspects aviation unit (AVUM), intermediate (AVIM) and depot maintenance on assigned aircraft systems.

Perform maintenance and repair on aircraft sub-system assemblies such as main rotor heads, transmissions, stabilators, and their sub-components.

• •Inspect parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects.
• •Perform component bearing replacement, bushing replacement, and line reaming of bushings.
• •Perform Periodic Maintenance Inspection (PMI) on main rotor heads from UH-60 or AH-64 aircraft.
• •Perform Time Before Overhaul (TBO) replacement.
• •Responsible for completion and maintenance of applicable forms and records.
• •Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
• •Observe all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
• •Perform general aircraft maintenance duties (removal and installation of aircraft assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls).
• •Perform additional duties as requested.

Minimum Requirements

• •High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
• •Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience is Required.
• •(FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P), with at least (2) two years of aviation maintenance experience, and two (2) years on the assigned UH-60 or AH-64 MDS.
• •All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
• •License: FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3 required.
• •If no A&P, must possess an FCC License with Elements 1 and 3 as well as three years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary wing aircraft experience and two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS).
• •If no FCC License, must be willing to get FCC License – please contact the Recruiter for guidance .
• •Ability to obtain/maintain Security Clearance (NAC-I T1) Public Trust. Interim NACI approved to start.
• •Must be US Citizen. Must have a current and valid US Passport for travel to Germany.
• •Travel: As required in support of task order.
• •Germany TESA approval: Must be able to qualify for TESA approval; must have over 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience.

Knowledge & Skills

• •Experience using a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges, torque wrenches, scales, and TMDE (Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment).
• •Ability to cross train in various maintenance disciplines (i.e. powerplant, blade shop, or general maintenance on UH-60 and AH-64 aircraft).
• •Must have skill in reading, applying, and interpreting technical data from maintenance manuals, modification (MWO) installation instructions, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• •Knowledge of quality, production, and supply processes required to perform job assignment.
• •Analytical skills required to perform complex troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• •Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
• •Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
• •Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
• •Must be immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
