Summary

You will serve as a Aircraft Overhaul & Repair Supervisor in the MRO Production Department, Production Lines Division of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

  • You will establish some of the performance standards for the accomplishment of the work of unit and assists others in determining overall performance standards
  • You will determine and make recommendations as to the numbers and types of employees required considering trade-skills requirements and personnel availability.
  • You will determine priorities and assignment of work to be done by subordinates and assigns tasks to subordinates on the basis the capabilities and availability of the individuals involved.
  • You will monitor the quality aspect of the work of artisans under his/her control by ensuring all work is inspected in the proper sequence prior to submitting to Quality Assurance for verification.
  • You will discuss continuing work problems with higher levels of supervision, recommends appropriate changes in procedures, and gives advice on the probable effect at working levels of changes proposed by others.

Qualifications

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including 1) Planning daily/weekly sequence of work operations for subordinates; 2) Training subordinates in proper work methods, use of equipment and shop practices; 3) Monitoring and inspecting the quality of work performed by subordinates; 4) Assigning tasks to subordinates on the basis of their capabilities and availability; and 5) Interpreting and applying the requirements contained in technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints and preparing layouts and sketches as necessary. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
