Internship – Laboratory Technician Trainee

Position Overview

The Laboratory Technician Trainee will join the laboratory team and support routine laboratory activities under the supervision of experienced analysts. The internship is designed to provide students with practical experience in an industrial laboratory environment and allow them to apply the knowledge acquired during their Chemistry vocational training.

Main Responsibilities

• •Assist laboratory analysts with the preparation and analysis of samples following established procedures and analytical methods.
• •Perform basic laboratory activities such as sample preparation, weighing, dilution, filtration and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
• •Support the preparation, identification and storage of samples in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• •Assist with routine testing and analytical measurements under appropriate supervision.
• •Learn how to operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• •Record analytical results and laboratory information accurately in the relevant systems and documentation.
• •Follow established Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) procedures at all times.
• •Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
• •Assist with routine checks and preparation of laboratory materials, reagents and consumables.
• •Gain familiarity with laboratory quality control procedures and the importance of traceability and accurate data recording.
• •Collaborate with laboratory analysts and other team members in the day-to-day operation of the laboratory.

• •Complete the practical training requirements established by their vocational training programme.

Supervision

All activities will be performed under the supervision and guidance of qualified laboratory personnel. The level of responsibility and activities assigned to the trainee will be adapted to their knowledge, experience and progress throughout the internship.
