Aquatics Program Manager NF-04

Summary

This position is located with the Aquatics Center on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives may be paid. Up to 25% recruitment or relocation and/or retention incentive may be paid (service agreement required). Recruitment incentives are applicable to newly hired individuals/rehired individuals. Relocation incentives are applicable to current, regular full-time NAF employees.

Duties

• •Serves as the Aquatics Program Manager responsible for the daily operation and supervision of aquatics, training and recreational programs, personnel, and classes at aquatic facilities.
• •Plans and coordinates details for reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic, fitness, instructional, and joint community programs.
• •Plans and establishes an aquatic certification curriculum to include lifeguarding, lifeguard instructor, water safety and fitness instructor, swim lesson/meets, special events, clinics, and other certification and educational programming.
• •Responsible for NAF budget for assigned facilities and programs.
• •Develops and updates the Standard Operating Procedures for the aquatic facilities, programs and enforces policies.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Possesses demonstrated experience in planning, administering and executing aquatic programs. This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor aquatic programs and facilities. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level. An undergraduate or graduate degree in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology may be substituted for six (6) months of the required work experience. *Transcripts must be submitted at the time of application if you are using education to qualify. Ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment, and maintain, the following certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED Lifeguard Instructor (Red Cross) Water Safety Instructor (Red Cross) Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified" and referred to the hiring official first. Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (Red Cross) Certificate Water Safety Instructor Trainer (Red Cross) Certificate Equipment Qualification (Demonstrated knowledge and ability to instruct patrons on the safe operation of exercise equipment, and perform basic maintenance and repair) Fitness/Aquatics Instructor Certification (Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer or Aquatic Exercise Association Instructor) Adapted Aquatics Instructor Certificate Possess at least six (6) months or more of experience managing a FMWR or Government pool
