Architectural Drafter & MTO Specialist

Blunier Builders, Inc. is a construction company located in Washington, IL that specializes in post frame buildings (pole buildings) for a variety of applications including agriculture, residential, and commercial use. We are seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative Architectural Drafter & MTO Specialist to join our growing team. The individual will be required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Job Responsibilities :

Develop comprehensive blueprint packages utilizing modern CAD modeling software systems, producing exact floor plans, elevation layouts, structural sections, custom construction details, and precise truss drawings.

Own the project design by drafting complete, construction-ready architectural building plans derived directly from preliminary designs and client contracts.

Generate detailed shop drawings: shop for fabrication items such as custom cedar trusses, structural I-beams, and all pre-fabricated building components ready for the construction team to assemble

Optimize project efficiency and ensure budget accuracy through accurately detailed material take-off lists.

Compile and deliver finalized project material lists seamlessly matched with corresponding structural drawings for production teams.

Engage in collaborative peer reviews of architectural drawings and material order lists to guarantee accuracy before site production begins.

Job Qualifications :

Detail Oriented & Good Organizational skills are a must

Strong communication skills, both written & verbal: Ability to decipher subcontractor proposals and actively participate in professional peer reviews.

Analytical Math Skills: Proven capability to calculate precise material take-offs and manage estimation metrics.

Strong proficiency in a professional CAD drafting modeling software

Blueprint Experience : Understanding of residential or commercial construction components, including layouts, custom sections, and truss configurations

Min. 3 (preferably 5+) years of drafting experience developing plans for buildings, preferably in post-frame industry
