Responsible for coaching, recruiting, scheduling of the University’s intercollegiate Division III Men’s and Women’s Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field program. Responsible for all training and management of assigned event groups. Teaching activity classes and a second assignment within the Athletic Department.

JOB DUTIES

Assists the Head Coach of the intercollegiate Division III Men’s and Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field.

Oversees and trains specific event groups.

Recruits qualified student athletes according to TU Admission Office guidelines.

Assists, in cooperation with the Head Men’s and Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field, all aspects of coaching and administering a Division III Men’s and Women Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field program.

Makes appropriate arrangements for travel to out of town contests.

Helps manage expenditures within the budget.

Maintains Track and Field equipment.

Prepares for and assists in managing home competitions.

Assumes position of second assignment in the Athletic Department as determined by the Athletic Director.

Teaches activity classes.

Mentors student athletes.

EDUCATION

Required:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.

Preferred:

Master's degree or equivalent from four-year college or university.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

1 year to 3 years.

Coaching experience, preferably at Division III level.

Preferred:

3 years to 5 years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required:

Recruiting at the Division III level.

Specific event group training.

Coaching, recruiting, and scheduling.

Managing others.

Demonstrate effectiveness in the recruitment of student athletes and the instructional aspects of coaching.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Preferred:

USTFCCA Event Certification

USATF Level 1

USTFCCA Strength and Conditioning Certificate or equivalent
