What you'll be doing:
- Site Operations & Safety Management - Assist the Facilities Manager in managing day-to-day site activities, ensuring all staff, visitors, and contractors follow site rules and safety requirements while developing a proactive safety culture.
- Team Leadership & People Management - Act as line manager for the operational team, providing supervision, direction, and support; ensure employees and contractors are properly trained, inducted, and monitored to maintain required standards.
- Waste Processing & Plant Management - Control waste reception, acceptance, processing, and disposal operations; manage maintenance of mobile plant and processing equipment to optimize performance and meet budget requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance & Stakeholder Relations - Ensure compliance with all site authorizations and procedures; manage relationships with regulatory authorities (EA/HSE), local councils, and other stakeholders; facilitate regulatory visits and maintain accurate records.
- Operational Administration & Project Delivery - Complete daily site records and data analysis; manage contractors undertaking maintenance and works; deliver business-specific projects; provide customer service and ensure efficient facility operation within delegated authority levels.
What we're looking for:
Essential
- Landfill and/or waste Treatment processing experience in an Operational setting
- Knowledge and experience in H&S
- Knowledge of budget and cost control
- Understanding of Operational Plant Maintenance
Desirable
Technical Competence (degree or equivalent)
