The Department of Decision Sciences and Economics at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites applications for a full-time 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business Economics position beginning Fall 2027. We seek a scholar to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and help launch our new AI-integrated business curriculum. The successful candidate will apply economics, econometrics, data analytics, and emerging AI technologies to business and economic problems.

Responsibilities:

• •Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Economics in a variety of instructional modalities.
• •Contribute to the development and implementation of the College’s AI-integrated curriculum, including Applied Machine Learning for Business, AI Strategy, and Generative AI prototyping.
• •Incorporate appropriate applications of predictive modeling, machine learning, Generative AI, and other emerging technologies into teaching and experiential learning.
• •Conduct high-quality research in the candidate’s field(s).
• •Contribute to the department, college, university, and broader academic and professional communities through appropriate service activities.

Required Qualifications

• •Doctoral degree in Economics or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution. Advanced ABD candidates will be considered; the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
• •Demonstrated experience teaching Economics and/or closely related business subjects.
• •Demonstrated record of scholarly research and publication in accordance with faculty qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Ability to teach courses involving Data Analytics, Econometrics, Machine Learning, or applications of AI to business and economics.
• •Evidence of integrating emerging technologies or data-driven approaches with regard to teaching.
• •High-quality research relating to AI and/or machine learning in Economics

Salary: Up to $13,333.34 Approx. Monthly (Up to $120,000 Approximately annual)
