Role: Associate – Data Analyst

Locations : Copenhagen, Denmark | Hybrid 6 days a month

The Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time Associate Data Analyst to join our Copenhagen office and become part of a specialised, collaborative, and close-knit team working at the intersection of finance, data analytics, and securities litigation.

As an Associate, you will contribute to a broad range of research and analytical activities, including evaluating securities class actions, estimating potential investor recoveries, analysing settlement opportunities, and supporting the identification and assessment of new business opportunities.

The position combines financial analysis, data analysis, litigation research, and business research. You will work with financial and trading data, legal and regulatory filings, institutional investor information, and internal analytical models to support the evaluation of complex litigation matters.

You will be given hands-on responsibility from an early stage and gain broad exposure to securities markets, institutional investors, class action litigation, and data-driven financial analysis.

What You Will Get To Do:

• •Assist with the calculation and analysis of potential damages and settlement recoveries in securities class actions, including securities fraud, IPO, merger, and other shareholder litigation matters.
• •Collect, validate, and analyse financial, trading, market, and litigation data used in case evaluations and recovery estimates.
• •Conduct research on securities class actions, court filings, settlement notices, regulatory filings, and relevant market developments.
• •Review legal filings and settlement documentation to identify class definitions, relevant securities, eligibility requirements, and potential recovery opportunities.
• •Assist with research and analysis of institutional investors and prospective clients, including their investment strategies, portfolio holdings, SEC filings, assets under management, and potential exposure to litigation opportunities.
• •Support the development and maintenance of financial, statistical, and predictive models used to evaluate potential litigation outcomes, damages, and recoveries.
• •Support the preparation and maintenance of loss estimates, price-drop analyses, case valuations, and other internal and client-facing analytics.
• •Maintain and update internal databases and analytical tools relating to pending litigation, settlements, and institutional investors.
• •Prepare tables, charts, calculations, and other analytical materials using Microsoft Excel and other data-analysis tools.
• •Perform ad hoc financial, litigation, and business research as required.
• •Contribute to the continued development and improvement of research processes, analytical methodologies, databases, and internal tools.

What You Will Bring:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and an interest in working with financial information and complex datasets.

• •A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Law, or another relevant field.
• •Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• •Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• •Experience working with data and the ability to analyse and interpret complex datasets.
• •Strong research skills and the ability to collect, evaluate, and combine information from multiple sources.
• •Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• •Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• •The ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities effectively.
• •The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• •A proactive approach, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn.

The following would be an advantage but is not required:

• •Experience with SQL, Python, R, or other data-analysis or statistical software.
• •Experience in financial analysis, investment research, data analytics, business research, or a related area.
• •Familiarity with SEC filings, including Forms 13F, 13D, and 13G.
• •Knowledge of securities markets, institutional investment management, or financial instruments.
• •Experience working with large financial or transactional datasets.
• •An interest in securities litigation, class actions, or litigation analytics.
