Associate Director EHS - Broadmeadows

Reporting to the Site EHS Director, the EHS Associate Director supports the implementation of CSL's Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability strategy across the Broadmeadows site.

Working closely with Site Leads, this role helps drive EHS performance through strategic program delivery, risk management, continuous improvement, and the adoption of best-practice EHS standards. The position provides expert guidance and support across the business to strengthen compliance, enhance safety outcomes, and foster a safe, sustainable, and high-performing workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• •Implements EHS Global and site business objectives including EHS Action Plan. Meets site internal reporting requirements including Comcare/SRCC Self Insurance
• •Drive EHS compliance and continuous improvement through the development of EHS systems, policies, audits, and programs aligned with CSL standards, regulatory requirements, and ISO 45001/14001.
• •Ensures an on-going state of compliance with all applicable EHS legal requirements including regulations, permits and licences, and compliance reporting
• •Support Global and Site risk management processes and risk registers, ensuring EHS risks are identified, assessed, controlled, and monitored through effective risk management and critical control programs
• •Provide leadership, knowledge and support in the diligent discharge of CSL's Work Health & Safety responsibilities and actively support management and employees to comply with requirements of site procedures and relevant EHS legislation
• •Deploy continuous improvement and risk reduction activities through engagement of key stakeholders and development of internal resources
• •Facilitate incident investigation analysis and ensure identification of appropriate corrective actions to drive a culture of continuous improvementOversee governance of CAPAs (including high priority CAPA) processes
• •Provide support to other EHS team members as required

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• •Bachelor’s Degree preferably within the disciplines of safety, engineering or science and/or other relevant tertiary qualifications
• •A minimum of 10 years of overall experience in EHS in a GMP or biological manufacturing environment, or complex industrial/construction environment is preferred
• •Experience developing and implementing EHS Management systems and processes including proven ability to deliver practical tools and training
• •Experience working in a matrix and self insured organization is preferred
• •Good working knowledge with the Regulator (Comcare) and Commonwealth WHS legislation and regulation
• •Ability to work effectively in a team setting and among multiple department functions
• •Experience in Permit to work systems, Isolation/LOTOTO, confined space entry, working at heights, contractor management, and process safety
• •Demonstrated ability to organise, prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• •Proven experience in your ability to address safety and environmental concerns and implement improvements

Location: Broadmeadows, 5-days a week
