JOB PURPOSE

Partnerships & Investments (P&I) is responsible for driving growth & diversification of Aldar Development (AD) –expanding to new markets including platform acquisitions in Egypt (SODIC) / UK (London Square) and programmatic JVs in UAE (including Dubai Holding, Mubadala and other prominent private and governmental entities)

Role covers transaction origination and execution through to ongoing management of investments post transaction

Key focus on financial structuring, due diligence, capital raising, relationship management and driving investment returns

Preference for experience in real estate sector generally, Middle East markets

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Planning, Strategy & Origination

Work with wider P&I team on strategy & business planning incl. evaluating new investment opportunities, obtaining internal buy-in and progressing IC approvals

Identify optimal investment structures for P&I investments including acquisitions, JVs and fund structures

Transaction Execution

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors on transaction management including leading financial due diligence & investment analysis and deal structuring

Lead execution of M&A acquisitions from termsheet to full documentation, liaising closely with wider P&I and AD to ensure that acquisitions align with objectives and risk adjusted return expectations

Lead new initiatives for project level capital raising and lead investments into new sectors

Ongoing Management of Partnerships & Investments post-transaction

Lead role in managing investments post-transaction including monitoring and optimizing investment performance and Aldar returns and supporting relationship management with partners (including SODIC, LSQ)

Maintain financial models and interface with wider AD team on project financials incl. overlays on Aldar returns

Value Accretion / capital raising – eg corporate capital increase, attracting new co-investors, future partial exit / dilution of Aldar stake, new expansion initiatives, bolt-on M&A, fund structures

Interface / coordinate with Group functions on portfolio level debt & equity funding and tax considerations for LSQ, SODIC etc

Work with wider team to review business plans, peer review of new opportunities and financial models

Serve as a member of JVCo boards and steering committees

Drive new initiatives for project level capital raising – via JVs / fund structures in conjunction with internal stakeholders

RELATED EXPERIENCE

Minimum 14 years experience executing and managing relevant M&A transactions

Minimum 6 years of managerial experience

Strong preference for experience in real estate sector / relevant markets

Extensive technical experience in accounting, financial modelling and structuring, financial due diligence and investment analysis for related transactions

Blend of professional advisory (Investment Bank / Big 4) and investment experience

Network of relevant investor relationships (SWFs / institutional / private investors in region and internationally)

TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Excellent numerical and analytical capabilities with acute attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and negotiation skills

Strong interpersonal and relationship skills to build long-term trusted relationships

Proactive, motivated and adaptable to take responsibility for seeing tasks through to completion

Ability to coach, nurture, develop and retain key talent and get stuck in / roll up sleeves

Strategic thinking and ability to drive results in a complex, fast-paced environment

Highly ethical and collaborative team player - strong work ethic blended with sense of fun and enthusiasm to actively participate in a lively team dynamic

QUALIFICATION

Relevant Degree in Finance; preference for CFA
