Job expectations include collaborating with Legal, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and business partners to support responsible AI adoption, providing practical legal solutions for complex technology issues, identifying emerging legal trends and risks, and enabling innovation through sound legal judgment and effective stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a legal advisor for AI use cases across the enterprise, including identing and analyzing legal issues raised by proposed, developing and deployed AI capabilities

  • Support consistent legal analysis across similar AI use cases by helping develop issue-spotting guides, legal review templates, decision frameworks, escalation criteria, and approval memoranda
  • Help develop and support public policy, industry, and advocacy positions on AI by synthesizing legal developments, identifying impacts to enterprise AI use cases and translating complex AI issues into practical legal and policy positions
  • Provide practical, risk-based advice on selected non-AI technology matters, including new technology deployments, platform and infrastructure initiatives, vendor-enabled technologies, data-intensive solutions, cloud/SaaS capabilities, automation tools, and other emerging technology initiatives.
  • Monitor AI and technology legal developments and translate them into practical guidance, governance enhancements, training, and recommendations for internal stakeholders
  • Support knowledge-sharing and capability-building within the Legal Department through reusable guidance, playbooks, training, and mentoring of peers or other Legal staff

Required Qualifications:

  • Active member in good standing of at least one state bar or the District of Columbia with at least five years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as both legal advisor and process partner, including designing, improving, or supporting workflows, governance routines, documentation standards, escalation paths, and approval processes in a regulated environment.
  • Strong judgment, analytical ability, and comfort advising on novel or ambiguous issues involving evolving law, technology, policy, and risk considerations.
  • Strong client-facing skills, including experience leading discussions with senior business, legal, risk, compliance, and technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, manage multiple matters simultaneously, and collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex legal concepts clearly, practically, and concisely to non-legal audiences.
  • Proven record of accountability, teamwork, cooperation, and timely, creative, and professional problem-solving.

Desired Qualifications:
