Job Overview:

The AVP, Infrastructure Engineer – AWS Cloud is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing and building AWS infrastructure to support large-scale application and data platform migrations from on-premises to cloud. This role translates enterprise architecture and migration design documents into secure, resilient, and cost-optimized AWS environments. The position is hands-on with no direct people management responsibilities and partners closely with Architecture, Security, Networking, and Application teams.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and operate AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)

Build AWS services including VPC, EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS/Aurora, S3, IAM, Route 53, ALB/NLB, and CloudWatch

Execute infrastructure builds supporting data center exit and cloud migration initiatives

Implement AWS security best practices including least-privilege IAM, encryption, logging, and monitoring

Support hybrid connectivity patterns including VPN and Direct Connect

Apply FinOps principles to optimize AWS cost and resource utilization

Collaborate with Architecture and Security teams to ensure compliance and standards alignment

Requirements:

10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with 5+ years in AWS

Deep knowledge of AWS networking, compute, storage, identity, and security

Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud migrations

Strong troubleshooting skills across hybrid cloud environments

Core Competencies:

Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation

Preferences:

AWS Professional-level certifications

Experience with EKS, ECS, and container platforms

Experience operating in regulated enterprise environments

Experience with using AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor in the creation of automation.
