Position: AZ Local Delivery Driver (Ajax, ON)

Schedule: 4 to 7AM Start time, 4 to 5 Days per week (Saturdays required)

Position Overview

The AZ Local Delivery Driver will be responsible for covering delivery shifts out of Ajax.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• •Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products.
• •Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift)
• •Build and maintain good customer relationships. Demonstrates self-control.
• •Accurately collects customer payments. Safeguards company funds and follows GFS banking policies.
• •Performs all Sales Service functions by the 90th day of employment.
• •Performs proper equipment maintenance, monitors reefer temperature, and reports mechanical issues and damages in a timely manner.
• •Completes daily check-ins in a timely manner with no errors.
• •Collaborates with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns.
• •Perform daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles and equipment. Completes check in process accurately and on time. Manages paperwork to include register, credits, pick-ups, etc
• •Develops and maintains a good working relationship with other GFS employees.
• •Maintains peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas. Attending department meetings
• •Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• •Valid Class 1 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract
• •Proven ability of lifting, pushing and pulling up to 80 lbs
• •Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification
• •Excellent customer service skills
• •Strong mechanical aptitude
• •A high level of integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision and be self-directed
• •Professional demeanor under stressful situations
• •Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• •High School Diploma or equivalent
• •Availability for weekends
