Role Overview
We are seeking experienced and motivated Pharmacy Dispensers to support the CHS Pharmacy team at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary (HRI). Some shifts may also take place at Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH). The successful candidates will support day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications to patients and wards.
This is a great opportunity to join a busy hospital pharmacy service for a potentially long-term assignment, working alongside a supportive and established team.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately dispense medicines for inpatient, outpatient, and ward supply
Support pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care
Undertake dispensing duties in accordance with local SOPs and national standards
Manage stock levels, including ordering, rotating, and replenishing medications
Assist in the preparation of monitored dosage systems where required
Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and service users
Ensure all documentation and records are completed to regulatory standards
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment
Participate in general pharmacy duties as directed by senior staff
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
NVQ Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent)
Experience working within a community or hospital pharmacy setting
Strong understanding of dispensing processes and medicines management
Ability to work accurately with excellent attention to detail
Desirable:
Previous experience within an NHS hospital pharmacy
Knowledge of hospital pharmacy systems and procedures
Additional Information
Multiple positions available
Some shifts may be required at both HRI and CRH
Long-term cover required from 18th February onwards
