We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Clinical Lead Psychologist to join our esteemed NHS client’s team in Morpeth, Northumberland. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and experienced professional to take on a leadership role in delivering high-quality psychological services within a secure environment. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately on a short-term contract. This vacancy offers competitive rates. Please note: Prison clearance is essential for this role.

What will your responsibilities be?

Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a team of psychological professionals and support staff

Deliver advanced psychological assessments, formulations, and evidence-based interventions

Coordinate and manage caseloads, ensuring high standards of care and service delivery

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised care plans

Support service development and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with professional standards

Provide training, mentorship, and support to junior staff and trainees

Qualifications and Experiences:

Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent)

HCPC registration – essential

Proven experience in a Band 6 or senior psychology role

Strong leadership and supervisory skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical governance

Prison clearance – essential
