Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking a dedicated Band 6 Specialist Adult Speech and Language Therapist to join the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC), working across sites in Carlisle and Whitehaven. This locum role offers a varied caseload, covering both acute adult and adult community work, and requires flexibility to travel across Cumbria.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for adults with swallowing and communication difficulties, while contributing to integrated care across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist assessment and intervention for adults presenting with swallowing and/or communication difficulties
Deliver therapy across acute and community settings within NCIC
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other NHS organisations to support integrated care pathways
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards
Contribute to service development and patient-centred care initiatives
Requirements
Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (required)
HCPC registration (required)
Ability to drive and travel between Carlisle and Whitehaven sites (essential)
Experience in both acute adult and adult community caseloads
Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
