The Benefits Professional II administers and supports employee benefit programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role performs intermediate-level benefits activities including enrollment, vendor coordination, and employee inquiries, while contributing to process improvements and special projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ​​• Administer employee benefit programs including health, dental, vision, life, and disability plans.
  • Coordinate enrollment, changes, and terminations within benefits systems and vendor platforms.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits options, eligibility, and claims.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and support benefits implementation or renewals.
  • Maintain accurate benefits records and perform regular audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in benefits communications, open enrollment processes, and wellness programs.
  • Participate in benefits-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.​

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • ​​• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in employee benefits administration or related HR function.
  • Experience working with benefits systems and vendor management preferred.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements such as ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and ACA.​

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS

  • ​​• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) preferred.
  • No specific criteria is required.​

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • ​​• Intermediate knowledge of employee benefits plans and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration platforms.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service abilities.
  • Problem-solving and vendor relationship management.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.​
