This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.

Homewood is seeking a Beverage Manager to join the Food & Beverage Department. Job Summary:

The Beverage Manager oversees all beverage ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships across the resort. The Beverage Manager will ensure every outlet is properly stocked, beverage costs are well managed, and quality and compliance standards are consistently upheld. This role is ideal for someone with strong vendor negotiation skills, a sharp eye for cost control, and a passion for building out an exceptional beverage program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• •Beverage Purchasing - Manage all beverage ordering (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) for every outlet across the resort, ensuring accurate, timely orders based on outlet needs and forecasted demand.
• •Vendor Management - Build and maintain relationships with beverage distributors and vendors; negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms on behalf of the resort.
• •Inventory Oversight - Oversee beverage inventory levels across all outlets, conduct regular inventory counts and audits, and implement controls to minimize waste, shrinkage, and overstock.
• •Budget & Cost Control - Monitor beverage cost percentages and purchasing budgets across outlets; identify cost-saving opportunities and report variances to the F&B Director.
• •Menu & Program Development - Collaborate with outlet leads and management to develop and refresh beverage menus, seasonal offerings, and signature cocktail programs.
• •Compliance - Ensure all beverage purchasing, storage, and service practices comply with state and local alcohol laws, licensing requirements, and resort policy.
• •Staff Training & Leadership - Train and support outlet supervisors, bar leads, and staff on beverage standards, product knowledge, and proper ordering/receiving procedures.
• •Quality Control - Conduct regular quality checks across outlets to ensure beverages are prepared and served according to established recipes and standards.
• •Sales & Promotions - Partner with outlet managers to plan promotions, specials, and events that drive beverage sales resort-wide.
• •Reporting & Analysis - Track and report on beverage sales, costs, and inventory trends; provide recommendations to leadership based on data.
• •Event Support - Coordinate beverage ordering and stocking for resort-wide events, private functions, and seasonal activations.
• •Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• •Minimum of 3 years of beverage management, purchasing, or bar management experience required.
• •Prior resort, hotel, or multi-outlet hospitality experience required.
• •Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others and maintain accountability of staff required.
• •Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards.
• •High School diploma or equivalent.
• •Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
• •Current Food Handler and California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certifications (or ability to obtain prior to start date).

• •Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• •Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the annual rate it expects to pay for this role is $87,000-$95,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
