Bilingual Credit Analyst - SMB (Contract)

As a Bilingual Credit Analyst, Small-to-Medium Business (SMB), you will perform credit analysis for prospective and existing merchants, assess financial risk, and provide support on credit-related matters to assigned merchant accounts.

Contract Term: 12 months.

Location: You will be based in our Etobicoke office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Credit - SMB.

Posting Type: Replacement.

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $72,000 - $83,000

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs .

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

• •Apply established underwriting criteria and credit policies to evaluate merchant applications and mitigate financial risk.
• •Conduct post-review assessments for merchants requesting processing line increases or requiring re-adjudication due to volume, transaction size, or fraud-related triggers.
• •Perform credit risk assessments of high-risk merchants, including analysis of business operations, financial profiles, regulatory requirements, and fraud risk factors.
• •Analyze personal, business, and financial information to support credit decisions.
• •Partner with internal teams and external sources to support credit training, fraud detection, and monitoring activities.
• •Provide guidance to merchants on complex account setups and explain credit policies and credit-related decisions.
• •Collaborate with the Moneris Fraud team to monitor and assess the activity of selected high-risk merchants.
• •Provide backup support to other Credit Analysts, including assistance with special projects, peak volumes, and coverage requirements.

Required skills and experience

• •1 to 3 years of experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, underwriting, financial analysis, or a related field.
• •Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
• •Fluency in French and English.
• •Experience reviewing personal credit bureaus, commercial credit bureaus, or financial statements.
• •Demonstrated analytical skills with experience evaluating financial and credit-related information.
• •Business acumen and the ability to assess risk using sound judgment.
