Northeastern University Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships Program is a two-year experiential program designed to advance lifelong learning and the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates. A key element of the program’s success is preparing Fellows to meet evolving workforce needs across various sectors of the pharmaceutical industry.

Fellows have the opportunity to work closely with our innovative biopharmaceutical industry partners, while engaging with Northeastern University faculty in professional and career development, teaching, service, and scholarly activities.

In partnership with Northeastern University, Braeburn is offering a two-year Medical Affairs fellowship, based in Plymouth Meeting, PA or Boston, MA.

About Braeburn

Braeburn is a biopharmaceutical company focused on advancing innovative treatment options for people living with opioid use disorder. In partnership with Northeastern University, Braeburn offers a 24-month Medical Affairs fellowship designed to provide pharmacists with broad exposure to the Medical Affairs function within a biopharmaceutical company. The fellowship provides hands-on experience across medical information, medical communications and publications, field medical activities, promotional and medical review processes, and cross-functional collaboration. The fellow will help support the collection, preparation, and dissemination of medical and scientific information on Braeburn products to health care providers, health care institutions, patients, and their families.

Responsibilities

The Medical Affairs fellow will assist across key areas of Medical Affairs and develop hands-on experience supporting medical information, medical communications, publications, field medical activities, promotional review, clinical development, and business development initiatives.

• Responsibilities may include:
• •Developing and maintaining broad knowledge of medical, scientific, and technical information for the therapeutic area and product portfolio, including becoming a scientific resource for opioid use disorder and Braeburn products
• •Assisting with the creation and review of medical communication deliverables, including Q&A documents for field medical teams, Medicaid submission testimonies, AMCP dossiers, Scientific Response Documents, Frequently Asked Questions, medical meeting and advisory board content, internal training materials, and data-on-file documents
• •Supporting streamlined processes and procedures for handling medical inquiries and ensuring accurate, quality-assured responses aligned with Medical Affairs strategy
• •Partnering cross-functionally to ensure relevant data are incorporated into medical content and customer-facing resources
• •Assisting with publications, abstracts, posters, manuscript planning, congress planning, and vendor coordination, including ensuring alignment with internal policies, Good Publication Practice guidelines, compliance requirements, and authorship criteria
• •Supporting consistent communication and collaboration on publication projects with internal and external stakeholders
• •Updating internal documents that support the medical plan and medical communication strategy
• •Managing or supporting grant review processes
• •Supporting clinical development activities, such as protocol development, contract research organization engagement, medical writing for submissions, and site qualification visits
• •Supporting business development activities, including product profile evaluation, competitive landscape analysis, and disease state research
• •Assisting with review and approval processes for manuscripts, abstracts, and posters prior to journal or congress submission
• •Reviewing medical and promotional materials through the appropriate medical review committee processes and helping ensure materials are medically accurate, scientifically balanced, and supported by appropriate data
• •Supporting development of unbranded and branded programs by ensuring medical accuracy and alignment with approved scientific information
• •Assisting with identification of regional Key Opinion Leaders and Healthcare Professionals, supporting compliant scientific exchange, gathering actionable insights, and communicating relevant medical-scientific information to internal stakeholders
• •Attending scientific and medical meetings and supporting approved educational programs and training for internal stakeholders
• •Supporting planning and execution of advisory boards, scientific roundtables, congress activities, symposia, and other Medical Affairs initiatives

Qualifications

• •Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
• •Eligible for pharmacist licensure in the State of Massachusetts
• •Excellent oral and written communication skills
• •Strong time management and leadership abilities
• •Ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at both the industry site and Northeastern
• •Interest in Medical Affairs, medical information, scientific communications, opioid use disorder, and the biopharmaceutical industry
• •Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders

Expected Hiring Range:

$60,315.00 - $85,192.50

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
