Your role and work environment

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Business Lead to join our Insurance Tribe .

The Insurance Tribe has a clear mission: to make ING the go-to place for our customers' protection needs . As Business Lead Insurance, you will be responsible for shaping, growing and transforming our core insurance business, including Home, Life and Payment Protection Insurance (PPI).

Beyond managing and optimizing the current portfolio, you will play a key role in defining ING Spain's future insurance business strategy. This includes identifying new protection opportunities and product categories, designing customer value propositions, leading insurer selection and Request for Proposal (RfP) processes, negotiating partnerships, and overseeing the end-to-end setup and launch of new products and business models. You will be expected to combine strategic vision with flawless execution, helping ING continuously evolve its protection offering while delivering sustainable growth and customer value.

You will own both today's performance and tomorrow's growth agenda , balancing portfolio management with the development of the next generation of insurance propositions for ING customers.

This is not a traditional insurance role. You will combine strategy, commercial development, partnership management, product innovation and execution. You will work across the entire value chain, connecting customers, insurers, distribution channels, analytics, operations and technology teams to accelerate growth and build the next generation of protection propositions.

You will act as the senior representative of your products across the organization and externally, managing relationships with insurance partners, ING Headquarters and senior stakeholders across the bank. You will be expected to influence decision-making, align multiple interests and build strong partnerships that accelerate business growth.

In addition, you will lead and develop a team of business strategy professionals , creating an environment where talent can thrive, fostering accountability, collaboration and high performance, while ensuring the team contributes effectively to the Tribe's strategic objectives.

You will also be responsible for defining and achieving the commercial objectives of the insurance portfolio, including production and portfolio targets measured through units sold, Annual Premium Equivalent (APE), Gross Written Premium (GWP) and other relevant business performance indicators.

You will help define where the business goes next while ensuring outstanding execution of today's portfolio.

You'll report directly to Tribe Lead and work alongside senior stakeholders across Business, Technology, Operations, Risk, Finance and Marketing.

What you'll be doing

Drive the insurance business strategy

Define and execute the strategic roadmap for ING's core insurance portfolio.

Identify growth opportunities across Home, Life and PPI products.

Identify future protection opportunities and define ING's long-term insurance growth agenda.

Translate market trends, customer needs and business priorities into actionable initiatives.

Build and maintain business cases for new propositions, partnerships and investments.

Define commercial ambitions and portfolio targets across sales, APE, GWP and profitability metrics.

Grow and evolve our insurance portfolio

Lead the evolution of existing products to improve commercial performance, customer value and competitiveness.

Identify gaps in the portfolio and define future protection propositions.

Design customer-centric value propositions for new insurance products and services.

Explore new business models, distribution opportunities and value-added services.

Drive product profitability and sustainable growth.

Lead the end-to-end setup and launch of new insurance products.

Build and manage strategic partnerships

Lead relationships with insurance partners and providers.

Act as ING's senior representative towards insurance companies and key external stakeholders.

Build strong relationships with ING Headquarters and international insurance stakeholders.

Ensure partnerships create long-term value for customers and ING.

Challenge existing agreements and explore new market opportunities.

Lead partner selection processes, RfPs, negotiations and commercial agreements.

Accelerate commercial growth

Define actions to improve acquisition, conversion, retention and customer lifetime value.

Unlock growth opportunities through segmentation, cross-sell, upsell and bundled propositions.

Coordinate multiple commercial levers to maximize business performance.

Own portfolio growth plans and commercial performance targets.

Work closely with Marketing, Analytics and Customer Journey teams to optimize customer outcomes.

Lead business transformation

Drive end-to-end initiatives from idea to implementation.

Coordinate cross-functional teams to turn strategic opportunities into tangible results.

Remove obstacles, align stakeholders and secure execution.

Help shape the future operating model of the insurance business.

Lead the implementation of new partnerships, products and capabilities.

Lead and develop talent

Lead, coach and inspire a team of business strategy professionals.

Build talent, develop future leaders and foster a high-performance culture.

Ensure alignment between team objectives and business outcomes.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who brings together business vision, execution power and the ability to make things happen in complex environments, with strong leadership capabilities to inspire teams, develop talent and help people grow beyond their own expectations.

You have

At least 5 years of proven experience in the insurance industry, covering both Life and Non-Life products.

Strong knowledge of insurance products, distribution models, partnerships and commercial dynamics.

Experience defining and executing growth and business development strategies.

Experience managing insurance providers, strategic partnerships and commercial negotiations.

Experience leading Request for Proposal (RfP) processes and insurer selection projects.

Experience leading high-performing teams and developing talent.

Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives.

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including senior executive interactions.

Strong commercial and business development capabilities.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking.

Experience working in agile and multidisciplinary environments.

Fluent English.
