What You’ll Do

You'll develop and carry out business operations best practices for the office, contribute to strategies that improve team efficiency, support quality assurance for data products, and help connect the office's work to agency strategic planning and KPI tracking:

• •Lead end-to-end data mapping across assigned data sources and reporting layers.
• •Document business definitions, transformation logic, and data lineage, and coordinate with data owners and stewards to resolve conflicts in definitions.
• •Identify workflow issues and propose appropriate solutions.
• •Implement data quality rules, track exceptions, and monitor remediation activities to support the quality of data products.
• •Maintain metadata and glossary entries in the data catalog.
• •Develop standard operating procedures for change control and the data-mapping lifecycle, and produce status reports and governance scorecards.
• •Assist with the creation of training materials and provide training to individuals on those materials.
• •Track and audit purchase order expenditures to identify variances and support operational planning.
• •Review and audit financial data as needed to ensure accuracy, inform workflow recommendations, and maintain alignment with budgetary constraints.
• •Advise on relationship management between the office and other divisions, and support other projects as needed.

Requirements

• •A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business or management, or equivalent experience.
• •3–5+ years of directly applicable experience in business operations and/or data analytics.
• •Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
• •Solid foundational financial literacy, including the ability to understand budgets, cost drivers, and basic financial reports, and to incorporate financial considerations into operation planning and workflow recommendations.
• •Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
• •Demonstrated experience with using data visualization tools to create compelling visualizations.
• •Broad knowledge of business operations best practices and standards.
• •Ability to work in a team environment with multiple and fluid demands.
• •Ability to maintain effective and professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
• •Sound decision-making: the ability to identify the root cause of issues and resolve them in a timely way, and to take critical feedback in stride.

Bonus Experience

• •Experience with data lineage tools and methods.
• •A working understanding of the data analysis life cycle and its application in a business setting.
