What we do and why we do it
As the leading end-to-end investment platform for single-family rental homes (SFR), our mission is to reinvent the rental housing ecosystem for the benefit of all. We successfully merge our passion for helping investors build wealth through real estate with cutting edge technology that transforms the way they do it.
How it’s going (and growing)
With a talented team of 750+ Roofsters, our collaborative, can-do culture is what fuels our growth. In 2022, we closed on our Series E, raising $240 million, and have offices in the Bay Area and New York City. Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Stessa (financial and asset management software), RentPrep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both Retail and Institutional investors). In 2025, Roofstock took an ownership stake in Casago (short-term rental management services), expanding our platform to support both long-term and short-term rental investment services.
About the Role
Roofstock is looking for a Business Operations Manager to help bridge the gap between strategy, finance, product, and operations. This role sits at the center of the company’s most complex and cross-functional work and is responsible for translating strategic and financial plans into clear operational targets, driving execution, and creating visibility into performance and outcomes. The Business Operations team at Roofstock functions as a group of generalist problem-solvers who partner closely with Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations. The team plays a critical role in supporting Roofstock’s software development lifecycle, financial planning and accountability, market performance management, and operational improvement agenda. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, enjoys owning problems end to end, and has a bias toward action and measurable results.
Responsibilities
Strategic execution and planning
Translate company-level and functional financial plans into actionable operational targets and success metrics
Support annual and quarterly planning processes by connecting strategy, budgets, and execution plans
Build business cases, analyses, and recommendations to support leadership decision-making
Cross-functional initiative ownership
Lead and manage complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery through execution and measurement
Partner with Product and Engineering on initiative discovery, rollout planning, and post-launch impact analysis
Support prioritization decisions by balancing strategic goals, operational capacity, and financial outcomes
Financial and operational performance
Develop, track, and report KPIs to monitor performance against plan and surface risks or opportunities early
Create visibility into plan-to-actual performance and identify root causes when results deviate from expectations
Partner with Finance and FP&A to ensure financial plans are grounded in operational realities
Process ownership and rigor
Establish clear operating cadences, documentation, and accountability mechanisms for key initiatives
Improve existing processes or build new ones to drive consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency
Bring structure, rigor, and clarity to areas where ownership or visibility is currently fragmented
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in business operations, strategy and operations, management consulting, finance, or a similar analytical and execution-focused role
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with measurable business impact
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex problems into clear, actionable plans
Comfort working closely with Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams
High level of ownership, accountability, and bias toward execution
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority
Experience in a high-growth, technology-enabled, or operationally complex environment is preferred
Real estate, fintech, or marketplace experience is a plus but not required
Location
This is a 2 day hybrid role in the Bay Area office, effective October 2026.
Compensation
