[What the role is]
The CAAS Air Traffic Control (ATC) Management Associate Programme (MAP) is designed to groom the next generation of ATC leaders and aviation professionals.
As an ATC Management Associate, you will embark on a unique career pathway that combines professional ATC training with broad exposure to aviation policy, operations, technology, safety and international aviation. Beyond developing operational expertise as an Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO), you will have opportunities to build leadership capabilities and contribute to shaping the future of Singapore's air hub.
[What you will be working on]
Develop Expertise in Air Traffic Control: You will undergo professional ATC training to acquire your ATC ratings and develop competencies required of an ATCO. As an operational controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, orderly and efficient flow of air traffic in one of the world's busiest aviation hubs.
Build Strong Operational Foundations: A key feature of the programme is the opportunity to gain deep operational foundation. Upon attaining your ATC ratings, you can expect to spend up to four years in operational ATC roles, building your competencies, judgement and credibility as an air traffic controller. This operational experience will provide the foundation for future leadership and development opportunities within CAAS.
Gain Broad Exposure Across the Aviation Ecosystem: After establishing a strong operational foundation, you will be exposed to a diverse range of aviation functions, such as air traffic management and operations, aviation policy and regulation, aviation safety and oversight, operations and technology planning and international aviation collaboration. This holistic exposure will provide you with a deep understanding of the aviation ecosystem and prepare you for leadership roles across CAAS.
Contribute to Impactful and Meaningful Projects: You will have opportunities to contribute to organisation-wide and sector-level initiatives that support the continued growth, transformation and resilience of Singapore's aviation sector. Working alongside colleagues from various divisions, you will broaden your perspectives and hone your leadership capabilities.
Learn from Experienced Leaders and Industry Experts: You will benefit from mentorship and guidance from experienced ATCOs and senior leaders within CAAS. Beyond mentorship, you will have opportunities to connect with aviation professionals across the industry, building valuable networks and learning from experienced practitioners.
Build a global aviation perspective: As your career progresses, you may have opportunities to work with international aviation stakeholders and contribute to Singapore's interests in regional and global aviation platforms.
