Cardiovascular Rad Technologist

SUMMARY

Performs and assists cardiologists in performing angiographic procedures, obtaining films of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Care . Perform radiography of patients in all assigned areas; maintain accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts; provide on-call coverage for the Diagnostic Section of Radiology; provide excellent patient service

General Maintenance . Clean, restock, and prepare rooms on a daily basis

Documentation . Ensure concise and complete documentation of patient exams and related procedures, utilizing the RIS/PACS and inpatient charts as necessary

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years college certificate or equivalent

Required Licensure/Certification Skills: NYS license in Radiologic Technology & ARRT (R)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) certification through ARRT - Preferred

1 year of Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.

Strong computer, customer service, and communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
