Experience: The Department of Cell Biology and Physiology at Brigham Young University (https://cell.byu.edu) announces a full-time, tenure-track professional (teaching and lab coordination) faculty position. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in cell biology, physiology, or related discipline and a record of excellent teaching and mentoring in undergraduate lecture and lab courses. Preference is given to candidates with experience developing and overseeing physiology teaching labs. Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary scientific environment are essential.

Duties/Expectations: Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate physiology, anatomy, and cell biology courses and coordinating/managing physiology teaching labs. Recruiting, training, and mentoring undergraduate teaching assistants is an important part of this position. Additional responsibilities are to assess and improve lab activities and manage the physical aspects of physiology teaching lab equipment and rooms. Citizenship expectations include involvement in university service and active engagement in professional organizations at the regional and national levels. Traditional research scholarship is not a requirement of this position.
