E03 Position Summary

Help businesses grow and strengthen our regional workforce. As the Center for Workforce Development Manager, you’ll connect San Juan College with employers to identify workforce needs and develop training programs and certifications that help businesses and their employees succeed.

You’ll combine business development, relationship-building, program development, and problem-solving to create new opportunities, coordinate customized training, and deliver an excellent client experience. Develops and maintains relationships with new and existing business clients to identify workforce training needs and opportunities; promotes CWD programs and services, prepares proposals and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs), and develops training agreements to support enrollment and revenue goals.

Develops new programs and certifications that support workforce development needs of employers and employees.

Supervises assigned adjunct employees. Participates in recruitment, selection, onboarding, performance management, and employee development in accordance with College policies and under the direction of the Director.

Achieves monthly and annual proposals, enrollment and revenue goals by integrating marketing, operations, and financial knowledge.

Occasionally facilitates StrengthsFinder or DISC training for the College and/or businesses.

Recruits and interviews potential instructors and, in coordination with other staff, schedules classes and assigns instructors. Works with HR to hire and onboard new Adjunct Faculty.

Oversees the research, analysis and recommendations for new business opportunities and new training sales options with a keen awareness of organizational growth initiatives related to regional markets and target customer segments, as well as CWD’s potential to meet customer needs.

Develops and implements plans designed to increase existing business and capture new opportunities for workforce development classes including both existing customer relationships and new markets.

Schedules client-driven classes, assigns instructors, and coordinates additional logistics with the Operations Team to ensure client satisfaction.

Collects and analyzes information and prepares data and sales reports, leveraging real data and capitalizing on business trends and opportunities.

Represents the college to students, outside agencies, and community partners and colleges, including departmental Advisory Committees, demonstrating cultural competency, diversity, and inclusivity.

Monitors and reviews instructor performance through evaluations. Discuss evaluations with instructors as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Bachelor’s degree and/or workforce development; sales experience.

Experience sufficient to manage multiple programs and priorities, develop and maintain client relationships, coordinate workforce training, and supervise assigned employees, typically associated with three to five years of related experience.
