Position Purpose:

Under the supervision of a Certified Central Sterile Technician, provides a variety of sterilization processing functions, manual and automated decontamination procedures. Provides sterile instruments and clean equipment to the Operating Room, Gastroenterology, Women-Infant Center, Emergency Department and other departments as needed.

What you will do:

Provides technical support by decontaminating, processing, and reassembling instruments for sterilization. Safely operate all steam, Sterrad and E+O Sterilizers, utilize cart washer and washer-decontaminators.

Support the Operating Room by completing case carts efficient and according to individual needs. Filling stock list requests and communicate the need for reordering supplies appropriately.

Supports hospital safety initiatives by using supplies and equipment appropriately, maintains approved infection control policies and standards, and handles chemicals and other potentially hazardous substances appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education : High School diploma or equivalent

Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Certification : Central Sterile Processing Technician or Graduate of a program that qualifies the candidate to sit and pass the exam within six months from date of hire.
