As a Lead for the Children and Young Person’s service you will:

• •Play a vital role in the child’s journey through the hospital.
• •Be a trusted guide and support to them as well as to their parents or guardians.
• •Deliver high quality, clinically effective care as an essential part of our ward team.
• •Work with a wide variety of cases which will broaden your skills. You will also work within different specialist areas.
• •Be accountable for the operational and clinical management of the CYP service
• •Work collaboratively with consultants and a range of stakeholders to drive and develop the CYP service
• •Lead and manage a team of specialist nurses to deliver a bespoke service for our patients
• •Participate in the on-call rota
• •Promote innovation within the service to be responsive to service user needs.

To succeed as a Children and Young Person’s Manager you will;

• •Be NMC qualified and have extensive post registration experience in a children’s ward setting
• •Have various levels of post-registration experience – and ideally EPALS, ILS or ALS skills or willingness to undertake further study.
• •Experience in Children’s nursing with Adult nursing as an advantage
• •Experience of clinical leadership
• •Can work well individually and as part of a team
• •Can engage and build relationships with external stakeholders
