Job Title:

Clinical Applications Analyst_ Division of Information Systems

Job Summary:

Provides a high level of technical support (development, testing, integration and implementation) of applications and interfaces which deliver IT tools and support business functions across the health system. Performs project management, requirements definitions, systems design, analysis, code development, problem resolution and vendor coordination.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare, business, management or related field and four (4) year of related experience or equivalent combination of education or experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of moderately complex software applications and computer equipment. Skills in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Detailed analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of team. Ability to ensure policies, procedures, and processes are followed and implemented. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff. Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot software. Ability to prepare reports and maintain records and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and augments the development and maintenance of clinical application systems. Maintains and upgrades clinical systems. Performs initial troubleshooting and problem-resolution for assigned user groups and clinical applications.
  • Develops and maintains clear, understandable documentation to describe program development and modification, as well as troubleshooting. Updates system and support documentation as necessary to reflect changes to programs, solutions, reports and interfaces.
  • Functions as a technical consultant to the health system and maintains high service levels. Participates in system wide initiatives to improve efficiency and reach institutional goals and objectives.
  • Functions as an independent application project lead for module(s) or system(s)
  • Acts as mentor, new hire trainer, and expert for application and technical teams, and other areas during implementation rollout efforts, in the on-going management of user requests, issues, and delivery of application enhancements.
  • Participates in organizational change management and communication efforts.

Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more).
