About the Position: The Clinical Coordinator (Polysomnography) provides support to the A. T. Augusta Military Medical Center in Fort Belvoir VA, helping ensure consistent, high-quality patient care and facility operations. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

• •Formulate and refines health science policies, research procedures, and scientific organizational structures.
• •Drive continuous evidence-based quality improvements in clinical practices and health service delivery.
• •Lead the conceptualization and development of new health science research initiatives or significant modifications to existing clinical programs.
• •Provide expert management support across key administrative functions, including service contracts, program cost analysis, and annual and multi-year fiscal expenditures.
• •Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates.
• •Identifies developmental and training needs of employees.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Coordinator (Polysomnography): Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing health science policies and clinical research programs while managing budgets, contracts, and staffing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Education, Biological Sciences. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Preferred: Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CSH) obtained through BRPT, demonstrating advanced knowledge in patient-centered sleep health education and management, or willing to obtain CSH certification after hire. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), certified by the BRPT, with demonstrated competency in sleep study preparation, data acquisition, scoring, and patient care.
