About the Role
We are looking for a Clinical Director to lead the launch and ongoing operations at our best-in-class PHP/IOP center. The Clinical Director is the onsite leader for Overstory Health’s site, responsible for operational excellence, positive team dynamics, and patient satisfaction. You will lead the center’s first location, laying the groundwork for future expansion across Massachusetts. This includes fostering an inclusive culture, achieving growth targets, maintaining community relationships, ensuring quality care delivery, regulatory compliance, and healthy financial performance. This role collaborates closely with the Medical Director to lead the onsite team, including Therapists, Case Managers, Billing & Coding staff, Receptionists, and Enrollment team members.
Key Responsibilities
Daily To-Do
Manage clinician schedules and call-outs
Serve as the final on-site point of contact for clinical questions and consultations; escalate to CMO as needed
Serve as the final point of contact for daily on-site clinical operations; escalate to Head of Clinical Operations as needed
Conduct intake consultations
Oversee tracking of admissions, discharges, and transfers
Meetings
Lead daily clinical huddles
Lead weekly QA meetings
Attend weekly clinical site meetings
Lead monthly supervisor meetings
Management
Provide clinical supervision for selected staff
Support management of the internship program
Lead onboarding of clinicians
Conduct clinician performance reviews
Provide administrative supervision
Lead clinical team trainings
Participate in clinical staff interviews as needed
Clinical
Complete intakes, biopsychosocial assessments (BPS), and mental status examinations (MSEs)
Provide clinical supervision
Review and co-sign clinical notes
Lead crisis response situations
Clinical Operations
Complete incident reports
Receive and address grievance reports and client complaints/feedback
Monitor and maintain clinical team treatment compliance and quality
Lead clinical work audits on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis

The clinic consistently meets or exceeds performance targets for quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
A cohesive, engaged, and motivated team collaborates to deliver exceptional care and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Active licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LPC, or LMFT) with at least three years of post-independent licensure experience.
5-7 years of clinical experience in high-level care settings (IOP/PHP, inpatient, residential, or ER), including at least two years in a leadership role.
Proven ability to build and manage effective teams, especially in mental health settings.
Strong strategic planning, operational management, and community engagement skills.
Proficiency in Google and the ability to learn industry-specific software.
