Overview

• •Responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services. Participates in all necessary aspects of the medication-use system while providing comprehensive and individualized pharmaceutical care to the patients in their assigned areas.
• 1. Demonstrates the ability to work in areas of pharmacy practice competently and independently
• 2. Manages patient drug therapy in accordance with applicable clinical practice standards
• 3. Assures the appropriateness of all provider medication orders in maintaining a high level of patient care and safety
• 4. Maintains current knowledge of medication use and disease states applicable to their area of practice
• 5. Serves as the primary resource for drug information and education
• 6. Provides in-depth patient counseling when required
• 7. Participates in the training of new employees as assigned
• 8. Assumes local responsibility and ownership for assigned tasks
• 9. Consistently follows policies and procedures
• 10. Continually seeks out additional training opportunities and stays abreast of new and changing information for assigned areas
• 11. Demonstrates superior customer service, effective communication, decision-making, and organization to ensure efficient job performance and success
• 12. Serves as a role model in the following areas: professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork.
• 13. Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• 14. Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the scope of practice as needed
• 15. Uses appropriate systems for processing of patient information
• 16. Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• 17. Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• 18. Precepts pharmacy students as assigned

Education

BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree

Certification/Licensure

• •Must obtain valid RPh license in state of practice within 90 days of hire.
• •Pharmacist License (RPh) - State license - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP)

Experience

Hospital pharmacy experience (required)

3-5 years of experience (preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $148,304.00 - $214,926.40 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
