Job Purpose

To operate, monitor, and maintain cutting machines to produce materials according to production specifications while ensuring quality, productivity, and safety standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• •Set up and operate cutting machines as per production schedules and work instructions.
• •Read and interpret engineering drawings, cutting plans, and job orders.
• •Load, align, and secure raw materials before starting machine operations.
• •Adjust machine settings to achieve accurate dimensions and quality requirements.
• •Monitor machine performance and make minor operational adjustments as needed.
• •Inspect finished products using measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
• •Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• •Identify and report machine faults, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
• •Minimise material waste and optimise machine efficiency.
• •Maintain accurate production, inspection, and maintenance records.
• •Follow all company safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• •Maintain a clean and organised work area using good housekeeping practices.

Qualifications

• •ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Production, or a related technical field.
• •1–3 years of experience operating industrial cutting machines in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Competencies

• •Knowledge of cutting machine operations and safety practices.
• •Ability to read technical drawings and production instructions.
• •Familiarity with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges.
• •Basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance skills.
• •Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• •Ability to work effectively in a team and meet production targets.
• •Willingness to work in rotational shifts when required.

Working Conditions

• •Manufacturing or fabrication shop-floor environment.
• •Prolonged standing and manual handling of materials.
• •Use of PPE is mandatory.
• •Shift work and overtime may be required based on production needs.
