CMC, part of Amoria Group, is looking for a commercially minded Commercial Contracts Lead to support the continued growth of our US business.
This is a hands-on contracts role working closely with Sales, Operations, Finance and senior leadership . You'll take ownership of the commercial contract process, reviewing and negotiating agreements, identifying commercial and contractual risks, and helping our teams reach agreements that support the business while protecting our interests.
Please note: We are not seeking a lawyer, attorney or paralegal. We are specifically looking for someone with hands-on experience managing and negotiating contracts from a commercial and operational perspective. The focus is on understanding business priorities, managing commercial risk and making contracts work in practice.
What You'll Do
Own the Contract Process
Manage the end-to-end contract process across the US business, from initial review through negotiation, approval and execution.
Review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, client terms, amendments, contractor agreements and other commercial documentation .
Act as the key point of contact for Sales and internal stakeholders on contractual matters.
Ensure contracts are accurately documented, approved and stored in line with company processes.
Support Sales & Commercial Negotiations
Work closely with Sales teams during contract negotiations, helping them navigate contractual requirements and reach commercially sensible outcomes.
Review proposed client terms and identify clauses that could create commercial, financial, operational or contractual risk .
Challenge terms where appropriate and work with stakeholders to determine practical solutions.
Help Sales understand the implications of contractual commitments before agreements are signed.
Support the business in negotiating terms that enable deals to progress while maintaining appropriate levels of risk.
Identify & Manage Risk
Identify areas of contractual exposure and highlight potential issues before they become problems.
Assess clauses relating to areas such as liability, indemnification, payment terms, termination, warranties, insurance, confidentiality, intellectual property and contractual obligations .
Escalate material or complex issues where specialist legal input is required.
Work with Finance, Operations and Compliance to ensure contractual commitments can be delivered effectively.
Improve How We Work
Continuously improve our contract review, negotiation and approval processes.
Help develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, guidance and approval frameworks.
Identify opportunities to make contract management more efficient and scalable as the US business grows.
Maintain clear records of contracts, negotiations, approvals and key obligations.
Support the development of consistent commercial contracting practices across the business.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience reviewing, negotiating and managing commercial contracts within a US business environment.
Strong practical understanding of MSAs, SOWs, client terms, amendments and contractual risk .
Experience working directly with Sales, Account Management or Commercial teams on contract negotiations.
The ability to quickly identify clauses or terms that could create financial, commercial or operational risk.
Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge contractual terms where appropriate.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly when working with Sales and senior stakeholders.
A practical, solutions-focused approach rather than simply identifying problems.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple contracts and negotiations simultaneously.
The ability to work independently and take ownership of the contract process.
What We Offer
Hybrid working environment with flexibility and autonomy
Monthly lunch clubs and team social events
Personal development allowance to support your career growth
