A Day in the Life
This position is an exciting opportunity to work with the Diabetes business. Medtronic announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and to reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic. The Diabetes division, now known as MiniMed, completed its IPO in March 2026. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investment to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon completion of required local legal and employment processes, we expect your employment to transfer to MiniMed, subject to business needs and any applicable information and consultation requirements in your jurisdiction. Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Excellence & Operations Director to lead MiniMed commercial transformation and operational excellence initiatives across our Emerging EMEA region, comprising Russia, Central Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa. This strategic leadership position is responsible for driving sales enablement, commercial analytics, operational governance, and indirect channel management to accelerate revenue growth and enhance commercial execution.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Enablement
Design and deliver competency training programs and develop incentive strategies aligned with commercial excellence objectives and business goals
Create and implement StartUp training curriculum for new salespeople, ensuring rapid ramp-up and early productivity
Develop comprehensive competency frameworks that define required skills, behaviors, and performance standards across all sales roles and experience levels
Lead commercial upskilling strategy, encompassing curriculum design, content development, and delivery mechanisms tailored to regional markets
Design and implement Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) strategies that drive desired behaviors, motivate performance, and align with regional and global commercial priorities
Evaluate, select, and deploy enablement tools and platforms that enhance sales productivity, knowledge sharing, and performance management
Ensure flawless execution of strategy through robust governance, measurement frameworks, and continuous improvement processes
Analytics and Operations
Generate actionable commercial insights through data analysis, market research, and competitive intelligence to inform strategy and decision-making
Develop and implement predictive analytics capabilities to forecast sales performance, identify trends, and optimize resource allocation
Establish and enforce governance frameworks, policies, and standards for commercial excellence that ensure consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency across the region
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards that provide visibility into sales enablement effectiveness and commercial execution
Indirect Channel Management
Oversee indirect channel partner enablement programs, ensuring partners have access to training, tools, and resources necessary for successful commercial execution
Develop partner competency frameworks and incentive programs that align partner interests with company objectives
Implement channel management processes, policies, and performance standards that drive accountability and excellence
Build and maintain partner relationships, providing strategic guidance and operational support
Monitor channel performance through analytics and provide coaching to optimize partner productivity
Commercial Operations
- Tendering and Contracting execution and portal administration, enforce pricing strategy and operations in alignment with global.
- Event operations management - vendor and logistics coordination, ensuring healthcare compliance and reporting, securing approvals to post-event follow up.
- Ensuring governance, policies and standards for commercial excellence and operations are met in line with Global requirements
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with regional Sales leadership to align enablement initiatives with commercial strategies and revenue targets
Collaborate with Human Resources on talent development, performance management, and organizational design
Work with Finance to develop business cases, manage budgets, and demonstrate ROI on enablement and operational initiatives
Liaise with global Commercial Excellence teams to ensure consistency with global standards while addressing regional needs
Lead cross-functional projects and drive change management initiatives to support commercial transformation
Required Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in sales enablement, commercial excellent and operations, or related functions within complex, global organizations
Minimum of 7 years of people management experience
Demonstrated success designing and implementing sales training programs, competency frameworks, and enablement strategies
Strong background in sales incentive design, analytics, and performance management
Proven ability to develop and interpret complex business analytics, dashboards, and performance metrics
Experience managing indirect channels or partner enablement programs
Excellent project management and change management capabilities
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence across organizational levels
Fluency in English; additional EMEA regional languages highly valuable
Willingness to travel within the Emerging EMEA region as needed

Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in dynamic, complex environments with evolving requirements
