Description
Community Life Coordinator
Four Seasons at Hilton Head Lakes | Hardeeville, SC
$20.00–$23.00/hour + Comprehensive Benefits + 16 Paid Holidays
Hiring range based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
Collaboration. Authenticity. Connection. Balance.
At Cohere, we believe community is the most valuable amenity.
We do more than manage communities—we help create places where people connect, belong, and thrive. By partnering with some of the nation’s most innovative master-planned communities, we create places residents are proud to call home and where meaningful relationships flourish.
We’re looking for a Community Life Coordinator to join our team at Four Seasons at Hilton Head Lakes, an active adult 55+ community offering resort-style Lowcountry living with amenities including a pool, pickleball, and a golf simulator currently under construction.
This is a highly visible, resident-facing role for someone who enjoys helping people, keeping things organized, and making sure the details behind a great community experience come together. You’ll support resident programs and events, communications, administrative needs, and day-to-day community operations while serving as a welcoming and dependable resource for residents and stakeholders.
If you’re someone who is approachable, organized, comfortable handling a little bit of everything, and genuinely enjoys creating positive experiences for others, we’d love to meet you.
Why People Choose Cohere
The best communities are built by people who feel supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work. That’s why we invest in benefits, time away, and professional growth that help our team members thrive both personally and professionally.
Highlights Include:
- Medical coverage available on your first day
- Employer-paid dental coverage
- Vision coverage
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Employer-paid Life Insurance, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability coverage
- Pet insurance options
- Employee Assistance Program with mental health, financial, legal, and family support resources
- Travel assistance and identity theft protection
- Complimentary will preparation services
- Generous paid time off
- 16 paid holidays each year, including a Birthday Day and Volunteer Day, in addition to PTO
- Professional development and growth opportunities
What You’ll Do
Create a Great Resident Experience
- Serve as a friendly, caring, and professional point of contact for residents and other community stakeholders.
- Respond to questions and concerns in person, by phone, and in writing, connecting residents with the appropriate team member when needed.
- Help navigate challenging or escalated situations with composure, professionalism, and a solutions-focused approach.
- Lead with hospitality so residents and guests feel welcomed, valued, and heard.
Support Community Life
- Assist with community events, programs, activities, clubs, volunteer initiatives, and other experiences that bring residents together.
- Maintain community calendars, event registrations, program information, and related systems.
- Work alongside the Community Engagement Director and other partners to help create programming that reflects resident interests and the character of the community.
- Look for opportunities to strengthen connection, participation, and a sense of belonging throughout the community.
Keep the Details Moving
- Support administrative needs including special projects, records, mass mailings, resident communications, and informational materials.
- Help maintain the website and digital content with current community, event, and program information.
- Stay organized across multiple priorities and follow through on details from start to finish.
- Take ownership of questions and needs through resolution rather than simply passing them along.
Work Together
- Collaborate with residents, teammates, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.
- Communicate with care and professionalism in every interaction.
- Approach problems with curiosity, respect, and a willingness to find solutions together.
- Contribute to a team environment where people share knowledge, support one another, and help make the community better.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of experience planning or coordinating events and/or programs
- 1–2 years of professional experience with relevant transferable skills
- 1–3 years of customer service experience in a professional environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization, follow-through, prioritization, and attention to detail
- Confidence interacting with residents and handling challenging conversations professionally
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event management, marketing, communications, recreation, or a related field preferred, but not required
- Experience working with volunteers, members, or similar stakeholder groups preferred
- Experience in a master-planned or residential community environment is a plus
Additional Requirements
- Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Flexibility to support occasional evenings or holidays based on community needs
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Reliable transportation for occasional off-site programs, meetings, or supply pickups; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
Equal Opportunity Employer
