- Partner with suppliers to introduce new material technologies and support innovation in wire, connectors, wire harnesses, electromechanical components, and metal parts.
- Train and advise development teams on component engineering processes, standards, and best practices to elevate engineering excellence.
- Drive cost and productivity improvements by identifying high‑value, low‑cost component strategies that support insourcing, standardization and common architecture as well as long‑term competitiveness.
- Contribute to initiatives that improve efficiency and leverage advanced tools—including AI—to enhance decision‑making and accelerate development.
- Work with Fabrication Services to develop new parts and resolve material‑related challenges during qualification and production.
- Identify opportunities to qualify alternate materials in response to geopolitical shifts, lifecycle risks, or tooling transfers across global regions.
- Consolidate similar materials used worldwide into globally available, strategically selected alternatives in partnership with global sourcing teams.
- Review component changes for certification impacts and provide guidance on qualification plans to ensure compliance and smooth transitions.
